Teignmouth
The historic port of Teignmouth sits at the mouth of the Teign estuary. It combines all the attractions of an English seaside town with the hustle and bustle of its busy working harbour. We often see up to 12 - 15 ships waiting out at sea to enter the channel to Teignmouth's port.

The seaward side of the town is where you find its seaside attractions, which include a Victorian pier. The Den is a large open space with lawns, flower beds and a huge children's playground designed with separate areas for children of different ages, and a water play area in summertime. There are tennis courts and bowling greens.

But go round The Ness to the estuary side of the town and the character changes; a harbour full of boats of all shapes and sizes, the gigs, pubs that front onto the beach, and the historic foot ferry to carry you to Shaldon on the opposite shore. And in the distance, views of Dartmoor.
